The film tells the fairytale story of the young Elvis Presley, who rises from bitterly poor circumstances to become the superstar of the 20th century. At the center is the relationship between Elvis and his manager Colonel Tom Parker, played by Oscar winner Tom Hanks. Colonel Parker was also the first music manager to have the idea of marketing singles specifically through motion pictures. So Love Me Tender as a single for the first Elvis movie of the same name became not only one of the biggest successes and evergreens, but also the blueprint for Elvis ˜career.
