Their debut ep picked up some great early support form Zane Lowe & the NME, and the album is a big progression from there, a heady swirling mix of 60s psych influences such as Love, Cream and a general West Coast stoner rock vibe, mixed in with contemporary acts like Animal Collective & Dungen, all underpinned with an infectious melodic and at times quite poppy groove. Early release copies have picked up some amazing reviews online, Pitchfork made the album best New Music, Quietus, FACT and Drowned in Sound have all picked up on the band too. Zane Lowe has hammered the lead-off single ˜Solitude Is Bliss™ in addition to a video interview for his website, Nick Grimshaw made it his single of the week, and XFM playlisted the track too. NME are big fans, along with Q, Guardian, Mojo, Artrocker et al, so expect some great album reviews. The band are fresh from supporting MGMT in the States, where they picked up features in Spin, Rolling Stone & Fader, they hit the UK in August for shows at Leeds & Reading before returning for a headline tour in the Autumn. The album will be preceded by a new single, ˜Lucidity™ which will feature mixes from Erol Alkan and Pilooski and a hot new video.
