The lonely character from Johannes Is Zijn Naam’s debut album takes a tentative step out of his cocoon, opening the door, just a crack, to the outside world, to other people, toward "Contact". Ordering takeout together, crying over Pavarotti, or having some kind of abstract connection to a higher power, whatever that even means, it’s all about connection, no matter how clumsy.

This time, the studio door was also left slightly ajar, for a duet with kindred spirit Elmer and contributions from Linde Carrijn (Brik Tu Tok). But what you’ll mostly hear is: this is Johannes Is Zijn Naam, both theatrical and trivial, funny and fragile, armed with a bunch of synths and rhythm boxes he doesn’t fully know how to use. As always, Johannes recorded everything himself in his Studio Klokwerk Oranje. Comrade Dijf Sanders once again handled the mixing.
